What is Henna?
The leaves of the henna plant are dried and ground into powder, then mixed into a paste with essential oils, tea, and lemon, then applied to the skin. The henna paste dries on the skin (10-20 minutes), and is left on for at least an hour (the longer the better it will stain). When the henna crumbles off, there is a light color on the skin. The design will darken over the next few days and will last 1-3 weeks. Because it is all natural, it stains the skin one color, reddish-brown and varies with the skin tone.
